Blood in Ritual & Practice
Atlantean Initiation Rites
Before the fall of Atlantis, blood was naturally more attuned to the etheric and astral worlds, allowing humans to perceive spiritual beings. In the Atlantean mystery schools - initiates underwent rigorous purification processes to refine their blood. The high priests of Atlantis taught that blood was a conductor of cosmic forces, and through controlled breathing, visualization, and fasting, they could subtly alter the composition of their blood, making them more receptive to divine wisdom.
Dionysian Blood Rites
In the Dionysian mysteries of Greece, initiates performed symbolic bloodletting to enter states of divine ecstasy. In Orphic initiations, followers of Dionysus consumed blood and raw flesh of a sacrificial bull to ritually merge their spirit with the god Dionysus. The belief was that Dionysus, having been torn apart and resurrected, had infused his divine energy into the blood of living beings. This act symbolized the initiate’s death and rebirth
The Knights Templar and Blood Oaths
Certain Templar factions practiced rituals that involved a drop of the initiate’s blood being placed upon a sacred relic, often believed to be the Holy Grail or the skull of Baphomet. This symbolized the binding of the soul to the Templar order, a theme also found in Freemasonry and other modern secret societies.
Aztec Blood Sacrifice and Solar Magic
In Mesoamerican traditions, blood was seen as the sustenance of the gods. The Aztecs believed that the sun required human blood to maintain its cosmic power, leading to elaborate sacrificial rites where the still-beating heart was removed from victims to empower the solar deity, Huitzilopochtli.
